BRIDGES
What is a Bridge?
Dental bridges cover the void caused by one or more missing teeth. Bridges are fixed dental renovations made to replace the missing teeth by acquiring help from adjacent teeth on both sides of the gap. The teeth that support the bridge are called abutments, the ones that fill the gap are pontics. In comparison to conventional removable dentures, bridges are fixed and can only be removed by a dentist when needed.

At Royal Digital dental Lab, we have been designing & manufacturing dental bridges of all types for our fellow dentists. We are also utilizing digital designing & CAD CAM for the manufacturing of the best finished dental bridges.

If you have one or more missing teeth, a dental bridge can bridge the gap with one or more false teeth. A bridge is mostly built of crowns on either side of the missing tooth or teeth holding up the pontic (false tooth) and is cemented in place.
What are the type of Dental Bridges?
There are four basic kinds of dental bridges

Traditional fixed bridges:
A traditional bridge is the most common type and it can be used only if you have natural teeth on both sides of the gap. These are made up of false teeth that are kept in place by a crown cemented to the abutment teeth.

Cantilever bridges:
It is similar to a traditional bridge but it requires only one natural tooth next to the missing gap.

Maryland bonded bridges:
It also works similarly to a traditional bridge but it has two natural abutment teeth on each side of the gap. But instead of using dental crowns, it uses a framework composed of porcelain or metal bonded onto the backs of abutment teeth.

Implant-supported:
Instead of using crowns or frameworks, it uses dental implants as abutments. For every missing tooth, one implant is installed surgically and these implants can hold the bridge into position. If it’s not likely, the bridge may have pontic supported between two implant-supported crowns.
Why would you need a Dental Bridge?
When your natural tooth falls out, the adjacent teeth will spontaneously shift to the gap left by your tooth causing it to become loose, tit, or cause a plethora of oral health issues. The teeth on the neighboring jaw can also affect the bite and place extra stress on the adjacent teeth and jaw joints. Since the teeth have been sloped or shifted, it is vulnerable to decay since it is harder to clean the teeth in such a state. The jaw can also shrink, which makes you look older than you are as you'll have deformed lips and sunken cheeks. The bridge acts as a substitute for the missing tooth which averts the stated events from occurring and lets you smile with a whole set of teeth.
